The Vampire Diaries is an American supernatural-fantasy horror television series developed by Kevin Williamson, based on the book series of the same name by L. J. Smith. The series follows the life of Elena Gilbert who falls in love with vampir. Stefan believes a stranger in town who questions the sheriff and the mayor is actually a vampire hunter. Meanwhile, Elena tries to cope with the extreme highs and lows that are part of being a vampire; and Jeremy and Matt are surprised to see a girl they used to know enroll at the high school.
